YOUTH ATHLETES (Ages 10-18)

Therapy for athletes facing mental hurdles like overthinking or performance anxiety provides a supportive space to untangle their thoughts and emotions. It helps them understand and address the root causes of their anxieties, whether they stem from past experiences or the pressures of competition.

  • Therapists equip athletes with coping strategies to navigate moments of nervousness or self-doubt, enabling them to perform with confidence rather than freezing up in critical situations. Moreover, therapy aids athletes in bouncing back from setbacks and mistakes, teaching them resilience and self-compassion. It also addresses interpersonal challenges, such as conflicts with coaches or teammates, helping athletes develop healthy communication skills and boundaries. For those struggling with confidence despite their talents, therapy fosters a mindset shift towards self-belief and empowerment. Additionally, it provides targeted interventions for managing specific issues like mental blocks or performance anxieties, guiding athletes towards breakthroughs and renewed focus. Therapists also involve parents in the process, providing guidance on how to best support their anxious athletes while fostering a positive and nurturing environment. Ultimately, therapy for athletes focuses on building not just physical skills, but also mental fortitude, confidence, and resilience to excel both in sports and in life.
